Our Barred Plymouth Rock point-of-lay pullets are a popular heritage breed known for their calm nature, attractive black-and-white barred plumage, and dependable brown egg production. These birds are an excellent choice for backyard flocks, hobby farms, and families looking for friendly, productive hens.
Raised with care at STS Farms, our pullets are sold at point of lay, meaning they are nearing the age when they will begin producing eggs.
Barred Plymouth Rocks typically lay approximately 200–280 large brown eggs per year, making them a dependable dual-purpose heritage breed. While they may not match the production levels of commercial laying strains, they offer excellent consistency, longevity, and personality.
One of the most beloved characteristics of the Barred Plymouth Rock is its calm and friendly disposition. They are generally easy to manage, adapt well to free-ranging or confined environments, and often become favourites among flock owners.
Our point-of-lay pullets are sold just before they begin laying eggs, allowing customers to avoid the challenges of raising chicks while still enjoying many productive years from their flock.
Availability is limited and birds are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend purchasing early, as we raise fewer heritage breed pullets than our commercial pullets.
Pullets are sold as healthy birds at the time of pickup or delivery. STS Farms cannot guarantee future egg production, performance, or longevity, as outcomes depend on management, environment, and care after leaving the farm.
